Maillebois, France WWI Monument 1960
By A2C Sibert

Extract from Dreux Review

On the north side of the WWI monument across the driveway from the Auberge de Maillebois in Maillebois, France there is a list of the fallen men from Maillebois in WWI. Maillebois was only about 5 K's from Dreux AB. There could be some names on the south side but I only have a black and white photo from 1960 that is legible. The color photo I took in August of 1987 is very hard to read. I am sure many of us American Airmen, base workers, and family members passed by this monument during their stay at Dreux Air Base, France. Hopefully some will read this story and let us know and maybe even send to the web-site some pictures. Some may even know the history concerning this monument. The following names are visible in the one photo:
RODDLPHE GIRARD   GEORGES HUBERT,
DESIRE HUET               RENE HUREL,
HENRI JANSIOT            KLEBER JEHANNIN
HENRI LEGRAS            AASENE MARTIN
ARTHUR MERAT          ALBERT POYER
ABEL SEGUIN               DESIRE VALY.
